Safety Valves
Safety valves release the steam pressure from the boiler if the pressure stat fails to cut off the element (usually if it reaches 1.5 bars). These units are crucial to the safety of any espresso machine and we highly recommend these units being changed as part of preventative maintenance. Most manufacturers recommend a yearly change of this item, and we would have to agree. Any item related to the safety function of the machine is worth attending too.
They can be adjusted manually, or pre-set as in the ones with EU certification. Experienced technicians can adjust these units themselves, however for all other users, pre-set safety valves are a better alternative.
Safety valves are a feature of all commercial coffee machines, the difference being just the thread size, and release pressure.
